Prof. Girish Nath Jha from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India Gives Guest Lecture at Udayana University

Denpasar - In the context of following up the collaboration between Udayana University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, Unud received a visit from Prof. Girish Nath Jha, who in addition to discussing the cooperation of the two frameworks, also attended a guest lecture at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University, Wednesday (02/26/2020). The theme presented in the lecture was "Data Based Language Technology in Multilingual Communities" which was attended by students of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Dr. Made Sri Satyawati, S.S.M.Hum. Delivering material presented is very important and beneficial for students. He hopes that all students can add material and add insight in their respective fields.

Girish Nath Jha is a Professor in Linguistics, specialized in Computing Linguistics. Computational linguistics is an interdisciplinary field that examines natural language modeling with statistics and rule bases from a perspective view, considering a computer that can be used to analyze language sounds.

Prof. Girish conveyed the challenges and applications of technological development in society that also supports the Digital Society lecture recently launched by Udayana University. The development of data and technology is very fast and constantly changing, and it also affects the use of technology. (HM)
