Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. A.A.Raka Sudewi, Sp.S (K) in his remarks congratulated the graduates and family for the achievements they had made while studying at Udayana University. Furthermore, the Chancellor said that some time ago the Ministry of Education and Culture through the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs had conducted a socialization of the Merdeka Belajar Program, the Merdeka Campus which was recently launched by the Minister of Education and Culture where the idea of ??an independent campus was based on the input given. Merdeka in learning means that Higher Education must give the right for students to voluntarily (can be taken or not) SKS outside of college for two semesters plus take SKS in different study programs in the same college for one semester (not valid for Health Study Program) .
Each SKS is defined as the hours of activity not hours of study. The activities in question are class learning, internship, student exchange, village projects, entrepreneurship, research, independent studies and teaching activities in remote areas. All types of selected activities must be guided by a lecturer. The list of activities that can be taken by students can be selected from programs determined by the government or programs approved by the Chancellor. In line with the Ministry's program, some time ago Udayana University launched a groundbreaking online-based course, the Digital Society course and was running this semester in early February. Through this online course, we strive to provide a new learning experience for Udayana University students by creating a pleasant and happy learning atmosphere. In this course students will be equipped with future skills such as the ability to critically analyze, the ability to think computationally, the ability to collaborate with various fields of science, and to be creative and innovate. This Digital Society is a course that can be taken by all students, but in the early semester it will be used as a supporter of the SKPI (Certificate of Complementary Diploma). This is expected to increase the competitiveness of Udayana University graduates in addition to some efforts made through student entrepreneurship programs and business incubators.
The Chancellor hopes that all graduates can maintain the good name of the alma mater and always be wise in applying the knowledge that has been obtained, use the knowledge gained to build this nation, make an innovation for the welfare of the community, keep the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila as the state ideology.
